Frequency Domain System Identification Toolbox 3.2
Novelties since toolbox version 3.0
The new version of the toolbox offers significant innovations. The use has been
seriously improved and simpified. Here are the highlights:
Version 3.2:
- Preprocessing of data without exact knowledge of the frequency content
- Improved object handling
- Improved excitation signal design
Version 3.1:
-
Automatic execution in automatic mode. The user practically need not intervene.
-
Automatic calculation of model orders in the s-domain.
-
Graphical window to assist proper import of data (Command 'compose' in the Read windows).
-
Possibility of the use of orthogonal polynomials both in s-domain and z-domain
(improved numerical stability: identification of high-order resonant systems.
-
Model plots offer easy change of aspects through pull-down menus.
-
Possibility of complex coefficients (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance applications, modeling of rotor bearing systems).
-
Special variables: sqrt(s) for geophysical modelling and diffusion processes, tanh(s) for microwave applications
Examples for usage are given on a separate page.
Remark:
because of the use of the new functionalities, this version runs under the latest
MATLAB versions: 6.5 (R13), 6.1 (R12.1), 6.0 (R12), 5.3 (R11), and 5.2 (R10).
A detailed description of the GUI and of the objects is readable in
an
HTML
document. For printing, zipped
postscript pages of the paper are also available (very large postscript
files!).
At this moment, there is no new printed manual for the new version.
It is fully backward compatible with the earlier commercially distributed version of the
Toolbox, so the functionalities of the individual functions can be studied
in that manual. The new, simple function call forms are shown by using
help, (the old-type helps are shown by the command oldhelp),
the GUI contains extensive on-line helps,
and the objects also have their own on-line
help.
