Aims of the New Version of the Toolbox

The first design of the toolbox made use of the possibilities offered by MATLAB V3. This caused the following difficulties.

• Input arguments needed to be coded in a complicated way, because there was no simple procedure to combine parameters of different type (e.g. to combine strings with numbers).

• Data structures were missing -- therefore both input data and output models were stored in an internal ``structure'', and read/written using special functions.

• There was no easy-to-use means in excess to the command help to assist the user in his/her activity.

The main purpose of the new development was to make the user's life as easy as possible. The primary tool for this is the GUI.
